'Quickzly'

My New Tangle

'QUICKZLY'

My inspiration!
About 2 months ago, when my husband and I had a little getaway to Las Vegas, (for a recycling convention), I saw so many inspiring tangles just waiting to be deconstructed.  I had to "quickly" take this picture before we passed it by. So I kind of modified the word "quickly" to make it a little more Zen friendly! Here are the step outs! Hope you like it!!!

'aMAZEn'

New Tangle

'aMAZEn'

As you may all know, I have three children. They are all excited about Zentangle, and some nights or extra hours on weekends, you can find all of us sitting at the table tangling, drawing, and/or coloring. I just love those times! (I just wish there were enough hours in the day to have more of them.) Anyway, my kids are always trying to come up with new tangles. (Most of the time, I have to tell them that their new creation, is in fact, already a tangle.) They are always coming up with ideas for new inventions too. (I'm just hoping that one day, it'll be something that will actually work and we can take it to Shark Tank (the TV series). ) It always amazes me how kid's brains work.
So that takes me to the reason for this post. My middle child woke up one morning, so excited, telling me he thinks he created a new tangle. So he explained it to me and then tried drawing it out. I got his idea, right away, but he had a few glitches. But together, we were able to figure it out and create step outs for it.
Since it is actually creating mazes, ones that people can actually try and figure out, we agreed that it should be called 'aMAZEn'. I hope you like it!  (And if there is something like it out there already, please let me know.)
Actually, I forgot to mention, I don't really even know if it would be considered a true tangle. (I know there is a name for this kind of pattern, but I can't think of it.) Anywho, here it is!

As you can see, it works great as a space filler! Click on image to enlarge   (This tangle is from a sister blog, Call it what you Quill and is from the same owner of The Art Zenter)
I hope you give it a try! I worked in Helen Williams' 'Tumbleweed' with this Zentangle.
Have an aMAZEn, day everybody!!!

'Sit'Zen'

My New Tangle
"Sit'Zen"

It is funny how we get our inspiration! Especially in the Zentangle world. There are tangles out there in nature, on clothing, wrought iron, jewelry, ..........You name it!!! They are out there just waiting to be deconstructed and put into simple, easy step outs for all of us to have fun with.
   Take for instance this chair,........

The upper part on the back of this folding chair is what inspired me.

So here I was sitting in, on a meeting for my daughter's preschool class. The information from this meeting was a waste of time. (Well, I guess not entirely, because I had gotten distracted and noticed this beautiful pattern on the back of the chair in front of me.) WOW!!!
There was a lady just 'sit'zen there on my inspiration, so I couldn't really take of pic of the back of that chair. So on my way out, after I had figured out how to deconstruct 'sit'zen', and I had had enough of the meeting, I was able to snap this pic of a chair stacked on the wall.
Here are the step outs and ta-dah,........... Here is 'Sit'Zen'!!!

(This tangle is from a sister blog, Call it what you Quill and is from the same owner of The Art Zenter) can click on images to enlarge!

This is my original that I had worked on during the meeting.

Please give it a try!
   Have an awesome day!

'X-DID'

'X-DID'

Back on my July 28 post, when I posted my new tangle 'Ooples', I mentioned that my inspiration was a woman's blouse in church. (Of course I could not take a photo of her blouse, being that I was in church,......!!) So as soon as I got in the van, I sketched out what it looked like. Her blouse also had another design on it and so I drew that one too, knowing I would have to come up with a way to deconstruct it. 'Ooples' was an easy one to deconstruct, but this other one would take some figuring out!!!
Anyway, this is what I came up with. If you think there might be a better way of deconstructing it please share your link in my comments so that anybody can see it. I found that it is one of those tangles that can take on many variations. It's quite fun! So give it a try!!
These are actually more variations of this tangle. It really is endless!!
In the above picture, the big 'X-DID' all by itself in the lower right, was the actual design that I had seen on that lady's shirt. The whole shirt and pattern had an American Indian look to it.
I chose this name because I used, 'X's' as the main part of my deconstruction. It just kinda fell into place! Enjoy!!!
(This tangle is from a sister blog, Call it what you Quill and is from the same owner of The Art Zenter) deconstruction, with 3 variations.

4th variation and completed tile.
This is my outline before I filled it in!

If you look at the first pic, you can see my light string of graduated circles. Then I just turned my paper and added 'X-DID' in each circular strip.

And the outcome after adding weight to lines and shading, it looks like a flower! Pretty cool, huh?

This was one of my trials before actual doing my final drawing, on how-to deconstruct, for you. Kinda neat how they line up and create a whole new design vertically too!

I would love to hear if you like it! So please drop me a lil message, if you can!

In the meantime,........
............go put some Zen
into this Tangled world!

'Ooples'

'Ooples'

Two Sundays ago, in church, there was a lady sitting in front of me with a blouse on that had a kind of crochet pattern running along the back. I thought, wow, that would make a great tangle! Then I started studying the rest of the material on her blouse and I saw another tangle pattern! (Really,............ I was paying attention to what I should in church.) Oh, and the other tangle I will share with you at another time. Anyways, here is 'Ooples'!

(This tangle is from a sister blog, Call it what you Quill and is from the same owner of The Art Zenter)

Notice the difference in the petals, once I used the burnisher pencil. It actually smoothes out colored pencil.

Final picture.

The background pattern in this tile is called 'Block'd' by Jane Eileen. Go here to see step outs.

I hope you like this tangle and have as much fun as I did with it! I believe there are a lot of possibilities with it too. Give it a try!!!
And remember,
Go put some Zen
in this tangled  world!!

'120 Ribbonz'

'120  Ribbonz'

This is a new tangle that I created, inspired by my niece, and her battle with brain cancer! The title of this is to let people know that their are 120 different types of brain cancer. And the color of brain cancer awareness is gray! Please use this tangle and help promote Brain Cancer Awareness, and/or any other cancer! Let's spread the word! Let's show our compassion!!!
Again, let's show support to our loved ones and/or anyone out there that is battling cancer!
Tangle '120 Ribbonz' and show we care!!
Start that 'Ripple Effect'!

'hugz IN kizzez'

hugz IN kizzez

Here is my very first tangle of my own. I always sign letters and cards with an XO. So with Valentine's on the way, I figured it would be a good time to share this tangle! There are many ways to show different variations of it too, but I have just included one finished tangle. I hope to add a Zia that suites Valentine's Day!
Here is the deconstruction.

(This tangle is from a sister blog, Call it what you Quill and is from the same owner of The Art Zenter)
This was just a fun Zentangle. As you can see I keep on using Aquafleur! I can't seem to get it out of my system!!
For this one I used Tangle Patterns String 016 and Tangles hugz IN kizzez, Angels Fish, and Bubbles

Ps. If you have a moment, you might want to check out this fun little ditty about XO's. It's kinda cute! How XO came to be Kisses and Hugs and then this one too, Urban dictionary: XO. Both are probably senseless info that might help you out with Trivial Pursuit, someday! hahaha
And now, since first writing this post, I have now come up with some Valentine's influenced Zias!

This tangle contains, hugz IN kizzez, Mooka, and Jailed Johnny!

Without any red!

With a touch of added red!!
This Zia is a Helen Williams, inspired piece! Man,......she is amazing! You must check out her blog and see all the other impeccable Zias and tangles that she creates! She definitely has a style, all her own! But it's fantastic!!! Anyway, her tangle is Heartline and then I added my creation of hugz IN kizzez!
I do hope you try this tangle and let me know what you think!

Go put some Zen,
into this Tangled world!!
