JUST A TINY TASTE

Weekly Challenge #243
'Just a Tiny Taste'

Haha, and you thought it was going to be about eating,...........Nah!!
This week's challenge, the Diva, Laura, has asked us to give just a sample of tangling on a tile (hence, just a taste of tangling').  I actually love having open space on tiles, so I enjoyed this challenge very much!!
As a little girl, I would make my own stationary. (What little girl does not like pretty paper and pens?) So for stationary, I would always give some kind of border and then add a little something in a corner. Then on the envelop I would add a touch of, matching whatever it is was that went with the stationary. Before email, everything was snail mail (sorry Bijou, no offense). I think that is why stationary was such a hit. The prettier the better. Sometimes though, I would receive some as a gift and I wouldn't want to use it because it was too pretty. (Sound familiar, anyone?)
So this week, I made stationary cards to hand out for Thanksgiving. I told each of my children that they had to think of someone that they wanted to 'Thank' in a special way, and we would send them a card. So for the challenge, I left off the words that will go in the center of each card. I had so much fun, that I know I will be making more!
(feel free to click images to enlarge)

I have been busy! But I wanted to give the kid's teachers something for Thanksgiving. They have such wonderful teachers and I am always so impressed with the way they inspire and feed my children wealths of knowledge!! A many thanks to all teachers!!!!
It was difficult to find the best lighting for these. My mother and I would make these kind of hanging trio eggs and give them at Easter. We would, mostly, do Pysanky Eggs.

Again, these are eggs that our chickens are laying. They are so pretty all in themselves, that I cannot crack them and throw them away. :0/

GIVE THANKS

Happy Dans Friday
"Give Thanks"
Coloring Page #3

November is already upon us and almost half way gone! On November 11th, we celebrate Veteran's Day here in the US. It is a tribute to all the brave men and women who have given their lives for our country and our freedom, and all the privileges we have in our wonderful country!
We also celebrate Thanksgiving, a holiday to commemorate a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims and Native American Indians, in 1621.
We have so much to be thankful for! I know I do! My family, my faith, my talents, my home, water, food, and the list goes on,............it is endless! So please as you color this month's coloring page, reflect on all the wonderful things you are blessed with and want to give thanks for.
Maybe, once you have colored your page, you'd like to give it to someone to say thanks. Or give it to someone as a gift to color it themselves. Whatever you do, "Enjoy"!! A many blessings and thanks to all who visit my blog and continue to inspire me and keep me motivated to share my talents!
To get your free "Give Thanks" download, click HERE

I hope you enjoy this coloring page and please share you blog or website address with a finished picture of this month's Dans Friday picture!

I almost forgot! Here is my finished colored picture of "Trick or Treat", last month's coloring page!

T_H_A_N_K_S.......... ZENDALA

Weekly Challenge #115
with Erin

I just fell in love with this week's template! Right away I was going to use Mooka and brake up those bumps on the outer perimeter,.....but wait,.............Erin threw us for a loop and made the challenge an even bigger challenge!!!!!!!! WHAT????? Hahaha, just kidding'. But I do have to say, I was a little stumped this week. Thank goodness for Linda Farmer's, Tanglepatterns.com! Erin asked us to not only use her template, but to use tangles that began using the letters in T_H_A_N_K_S.
So I used TanglePatterns to look up these lettered tangles. Linda's website is like using the dictionary but it's for tangles. If you haven't visited her site, I strongly recommend it because it is such a fabulous resource in the tangle community.
The tangles I chose were Twile (also known as Stoic), Hypnotic, Agua, Narwal, Kelp, and Showgirl.
Here it is without color. Click on image to enlarge.

I used Recollections Signature Especial markers for the color. They have a really fine tip on one end and a brush tip (which I absolutely love) on the other. (They might be just a Michael's brand????)
If you are a Zentangle junkie and would love to challenge yourself, with yet another challenge, then you should try out the Zendala Dares. I once was afraid of zendalas but now I look forward to see what Erin puts in front of us every week. So much enjoyment!!
Have an awesome weekend and I will see you 'round the corner!

GOURDGEOUSO!!!

Weekly Challenge # 242
New Official Tangle: Gourdgeous

Well, it was a crazy busy week last week and this week set me off to be a little under the weather and welcomed me with a root canal. (yuk yuk yuk) So if you'd like to pass up all my exciting happenings and scroll down to my Diva entry, please do so at any time. (But I promise, I will not include info about my root canal.) (yuk yuk yuk)
So my daughter's kindergarten class had a field trip to a pumpkin patch, Mind you this is my 3rd time getting to go, because of my other two kids. :0) I love going on field trips with their school and love helping out any time I can, because I get to meet their friends and get to know the teachers a bit better. (The privileges of being self employed, I guess.)
Here we were on a hayride!
Then we had our first Halloween celebration! Can you guess the theme we chose this year?

Please feel free to click on images to enlarge.

Well, at that celebration, there is always a very gigantic pumpkin they have and everyone gets a chance at guessing the weight of it. So guess who guessed the closest weight? You got it, ME!!!
So I'm not going to tell how much it weighed until next week's challenge, but do you think you might be able to guess it correctly?
There it is in our van.

Here my client is standing with it. Just to give you an idea of how big it is, next to a grown man.
Now it was 'Say No to Drug Week' at my kid's school so they had a different dress up day every day, but I won't include all of that. I also got chosen to go on another field trip this time, with my son, to the Safari Wild Animal Park. (I am having waaaaaaay too much fun, right?)
This was just one of my favorite creatures we got to see.

These are just little 'do' drop zenisms that I left around the zoo, and on the bus for people to find.
And last but not least, my entry for the Diva Challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed this new tangle. Anything that is more on the organic side of tangles, become my favorites!!!!
tangles; 'gorgeous' 'blooming butter' and a form of mooka

I still have a passion for doing artwork on eggs, and I thought this new tangle would look great on one. To find the step outs for Gourdgeous, go HERE

My array of different fall eggs. All the brown ones are coming from our chickens. We are getting 3 a day now. They are all so pretty just in the raw, that I can't use them with cracking them. So I blow them out and keep the beautiful shells to be used as a canvas!! (Yes, my husband thinks I'm crazy!!)
I sure hope I didn't bore you! Please keep an eye out for my blogpost about all of my Inktober creations. What a fun idea that is. If you didn't join in on Inktober this year, give it a try next year!
I love reading all of your uplifting comments that you leave on my blog! Thank you Very much!!
Blessings to all and I will see you next week!
